  INTRODUCTION  


With a sound general knowledge on all aspects of cheese including it's origins and history, cheese types, cheesemaking practices, ripening and maturing and sensory evaluation, a New Zealand CheeseMaster will not necessarily be a specialist in any one area, but a generalist in all.

After completion of the 5 modules there will be a final examination covering material across all modules.

Our onsite training is conducted at the manufacturing site or our affiliate company, Over the Moon Dairy Company.


 DATES AND TIMES 


          
Commence with module 1 at any time.  Complete module 2, 4 and 5 anytime after module 1.
Module 3 dates are set annually.   See Advanced courses for dates.


 COURSE FEES 


Course Fee:  Modules 1,2, 4 and 5 are $350 each.

What will I achieve?

Upon completion of the five modules that make up this programme, students will be awarded the Certificate of New Zealand CheeseMaster. This award is jointly issued by The New Zealand Cheese School and the New Zealand Industry Training Organisation.

Please contact us if you require further information.

As incentive to encourage you to complete the final stages of this award, the New Zealand Cheese School will offer all students completing their fifth and final module a $350 credit. This credit can be redeemed against the enrolment fee for module 5 or exchanged for a week’s work experience onsite at Over the Moon Dairy; the New Zealand Cheese Schools affiliate company. This offer is valid for anyone who has already enrolled, but not yet completed, their final module.
