About the New Zealand Cheese School

The New Zealand Cheese School is committed to developing the standards and quality of our nation’s specialty cheese.

We support New Zealand’s producers and exporters of dairy products through a programme of training that encourages excellence and innovation and promotes opportunities to develop national and international dairy markets.

Uniquely, the New Zealand Cheese School operates in conjunction with a commercial cheese making enterprise, with practical course components being delivered in an award-winning, artisan factory.

Over the Moon Dairy Company has won numerous national and international awards including New Zealand Champion Artisan Cheese 2009 and 2010, two Best in Class at the World Cheese Championship 2010 (Wisconsin) and Best New Zealand Cheese at the 2017 International Cheese Awards (Nantwich, UK) – the largest cheese competition in the world.
